Middle Tennessee St vs. Toledo—Middle Tennessee St defended well down the stretch as they held teams to 303 yards with 2.9 yards per rush and 6.8 per pass attempt over their past three games. Over on the offensive side the Blue Raiders had success with their ground attack with 163 yards and 4.4 yards per rush. Quarterback Mike DiLiello was sharing time with Nicholas Vattiato as the season ended. But it was DiLiello who was more effective. In their bowl elimination game at FAU the junior quarterback completed 12 of 19 with a touchdown. He also rushed for 43 yards and scored a touchdowns. In that three game stretch the Blue Raiders averaged 31.3 points a game while giving up 17 and gaining 397 yards. A program like Toledo is expected to compete for a MAC title. Instead was a disappointing 7-5 record overall and 5-3 against the conference which is below their standards with this program. Rockets have lost and failed to cover three straight bowl games. Their conference losses all came against bowl bound teams in Central Michigan, Northern Illinois and Eastern Michigan. They had an early season home loss to three win Colorado St. Play Middle Tennessee St +10.
