I grew up in a small town in Ohio. 1 stop light to be exact. I graduated from high school and went to Bowling Green State University and just knew that wasn't for me. But what was, was really the question. My father suggested cosmetology school and that is where I found my love for hair. I thrived in school! I loved every part of it! I worked at a salon and knew I had to get out of the cold and this is when the adventure began. I moved on my own to South Florida. I knew I didn't want to be in a salon but needed to find my niche. I went back to school for makeup and this is when I fell in love with the beauty industry. I have worked with many celebrities, brides, models and athletes over the last decade doing hair and makeup. Working on different news networks, magazines, weddings, and for a few years ran a makeup & hair agency. Jump to 15 years later and I am working with the biggest entertainment company in the world, WWE! I have been with them for 7 years and have been able to travel all of the United States, the U.K. , and Saudi Arabia! It's definitely been a fun journey!
When I was working in the wedding industry is when I got the inventing bug. My teeth became so sensitive. As many hair stylist we opened bobby pins with our teeth. My dentist told me I could no longer do it this way as I was ruining my teeth. I thought to myself, I really need to figure out a way to still do my job efficiently while not using my teeth, As it's pretty unsanitary anyway. So I crafted what is now called “The Brittlet”. I really enjoying finding solutions to problems and making products that help people live an easier life.
About 3 years ago is when The Chub Rub Patch came into existence. My sister and I were at a football game tailgating and it was a hot, hot, hot sunny day in miami. We wanted to look cute so we wore dresses to the game and definitely regretted it later. My sister wore spanks so she wouldn't have chaffing. She then went into a porta potty and was in there for a really long time. I was getting nervous. She then came out looking extra sweaty and a glaze in her eyes. She then proceeds to tell me she almost passed out because of the spanks she wore because chaffing. So you get the idea! I knew we needed to come up with a better way. There are creams, gels, and biker shorts on the market. But nothing seems to work. We are always having to reapply all day or feeling very uncomfortable. So this is when I started the journey of the patches. I originally was trying to license the patches during the pandemic. I kept getting the same answer time and time again. Your product is great, just right now is not a good time to take on new products. So I thought to myself, I can not go through life having this issue of not being able to wear a cute outfit because of thigh chaffing. I can remember having this problem as a kid. I would go to a theme park and being the bigger girl in class, and just dealing with this pain because none of my friends understood even what I was talking about. If there's a Will there's a way;) I knew I had to bring this product to market myself so I could help thousands of woman just like myself not have to suffer anymore!
I did it! I made it happen! I brought The Chub Rub Patch to market alittle over 8 months ago and we have been doing fantastic. We put the product on tik tok and we had multiple videos go viral and we have over 20 million views! People need this! So it makes me happy that I could help woman and men of all body types feel comfortable in their own skin and wear whatever their heart desires.
